flydubai has launched its daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport, marking its second destination in Syria alongside Damascus and further strengthening connectivity between the UAE and the country.
The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport on 20 July and was welcomed in Aleppo with a ceremonial water cannon salute and an official reception. The new route complements flydubai’s existing three daily flights to Damascus, offering passengers greater flexibility for travel across business, leisure and visiting friends and relatives.
The addition of Aleppo represents a key step in the airline’s network expansion, particularly in underserved markets. It also provides more convenient travel options for Syrian communities in the UAE and the wider GCC, especially during peak travel periods, while reducing reliance on indirect routes.
“The commencement of our daily flights to Aleppo strengthens our presence in Syria and reinforces our commitment to connecting Dubai with key markets in the region,” said Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai. “This new route reflects our long-term confidence in the Syrian market and our commitment to providing more flexible travel options.”
Aleppo, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known for its historical and cultural significance. The city has long been a major trading hub and is home to landmarks such as the Aleppo Citadel and Al-Madina Souq.
The service operates under a codeshare partnership with Emirates, allowing passengers seamless connections across both airlines’ networks with a single ticket and through-checked baggage.
With the launch of Aleppo, flydubai continues to expand its global network, building on recent additions such as Bangkok and Benghazi, and ahead of its planned service to Pokhara in Nepal later this year.
