Turkish Aerospace Advances KAAN Fighter Development Program

by Co Admin

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) announced that its indigenous fifth-generation fighter aircraft KAAN has entered the taxi testing phase, marking another milestone in the aircraft’s development program.

The taxi tests mark an important stage in KAAN’s development as Turkish Aerospace continues ground evaluations before advancing to further flight activities.

The first KAAN prototype successfully completed its maiden flight in February 2024, marking a major achievement in Turkey’s national combat aircraft program. Following this milestone, Turkish Aerospace progressed with the development of additional prototypes to support continued testing and evaluation.

The current development phase involves the P1 and P2 prototypes, which incorporate more advanced systems compared to the initial prototype and are being used to support further testing activities.

Developed by Turkish Aerospace, KAAN is part of Turkey’s effort to establish an indigenous fifth-generation fighter aircraft capability. The program continues to advance through successive development and testing stages as the company works toward achieving operational readiness for the aircraft.
