Egypt Hosts Defence Attachés Reception for EIAS 2026

The Egyptian Armed Forces hosted a Defence Attachés Reception to introduce the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 (EIAS 2026), scheduled to take place in September 2026 in El Alamein City, highlighting growing international interest in the event.

The reception was attended by Lieutenant General Amr Saqr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force; Dr Sameh El Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation; Dr Eng. Maged Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Space Agency; senior Armed Forces commanders; accredited military and commercial attachés in Egypt; and representatives of leading international aerospace companies.

During the event, the Chairman of the Organising Committee reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to delivering the airshow to the highest standards and ensuring a comprehensive experience for participating countries, companies and visitors. He highlighted the exhibition’s role as a key aviation platform in Africa and the Middle East, facilitating the exchange of expertise and showcasing advancements in aviation and space technologies.

The programme featured a presentation by the Organising Committee and a documentary film highlighting the success of the previous edition, which attracted major companies and institutions across the aviation and space sectors. The presentation underscored Egypt’s capability to host large-scale international events and positioned the exhibition as a gateway to Africa and the Middle East.

The upcoming edition is expected to feature more than 250 exhibitors from 50 countries, over 50 flying displays, approximately 12,000 visitors, and more than 100 aircraft of various types, alongside official delegations from around the world.

The reception also included presentations from organising partners outlining the vision for the upcoming edition, including updates on exhibition infrastructure, participating companies and key features. The event concluded with networking sessions between military and commercial attachés and industry representatives, providing opportunities to discuss participation in EIAS 2026.
