Jet2 plc selected CFM LEAP-1A engines to power 54 Airbus A321neo aircraft, bringing its total LEAP-powered A321neo fleet to 146 aircraft, alongside nine leased aircraft. The agreement also includes a long-term engine services arrangement supporting the airline’s expansion plans.
“We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing relationship with CFM, which has been a key partner in our ongoing growth,” said Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer of Jet2 plc. “With all our new aircraft now confirmed with LEAP engines, we are fully committed to CFM to provide the best customer experience.”
Jet2 has been a CFM customer for more than 20 years. In March 2022, the airline placed an order for LEAP-1A engines to power up to 75 Airbus A321neo aircraft, followed by an additional selection in March 2023 for up to 71 more A321neo family aircraft. Currently, 29 Airbus A321neo aircraft equipped with LEAP-1A engines are in operation within the Jet2 fleet.
“We are proud that Jet2 plc continues to choose CFM as their engine partner,” said Gaël Méheust, President and Chief Executive Officer of CFM International. “It is a partnership built on trust and performance, and we are fully committed to supporting Jet2’s operations for the years to come.”
CFM LEAP engines, with more than 10,000 units delivered, represent one of the fastest production ramps in commercial aviation. The company continues to enhance engine performance with durability upgrades and maintenance solutions aimed at improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.
