The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between SARSILMAZ and Spain-based EM&E Group establishes a new framework for cooperation between the Turkish and Spanish defence industries. It holds strategic importance in areas such as system integration, joint production, technology sharing, and value-added exports.
SARSILMAZ, a leading company in the Turkish defence industry, and EM&E Group have signed an MoU to initiate strategic collaboration in defence technologies.
Under the agreement, the integration of SARSILMAZ’s machine guns developed through more than 150 years of experience—and TR Mekatronik’s 25–30 mm cannon systems (a group company) with EM&E Group’s field-proven remote weapon stations across various geographies is targeted.
The agreement aims to leverage the complementary capabilities of both parties and will not be limited to system integration. In later phases, the cooperation is planned to expand to include joint production and co-development activities.
In this context, the partnership creates strong technological and market complementarities between the two companies, while also contributing to the deepening of defence industry relations between Türkiye and Spain. The international presence and export experience of both firms are expected to generate new global opportunities.
“An important step for value-added exports and technology-driven cooperation”
M. Nuri Kızıltan, General Manager of Foreign Trade at SARSILMAZ, stated that the MoU establishes a strategic foundation for cooperation for both the companies and their respective countries:
“We do not view this MoU with EM&E Group merely as a technical collaboration between two companies. It represents an important step in bringing together complementary capabilities within the defence industry ecosystems of Türkiye and Spain.
When SARSILMAZ’s machine guns developed through over 150 years of manufacturing and engineering experience—and TR Mekatronik’s 25–30 mm cannon systems are integrated with EM&E Group’s field-proven remote weapon systems, it will result in strong and competitive solutions for international markets.
This cooperation is significant for increasing our country’s value-added export potential, opening the door to technology-driven joint development processes, and further strengthening the global position of the Turkish defence industry.”
M. Jocxan Bojorquez, Vice President of Global Sales at EM&E Group, added:
“This strategic cooperation with SARSILMAZ reinforces our commitment to delivering competitive and high-performance defence systems to international markets. The integration of both companies’ capabilities highlights the critical role of industrial cooperation in developing advanced defence systems through technology sharing and joint production, while strengthening the defence industry infrastructure of both countries.”
The MoU between SARSILMAZ and EM&E Group is expected to bring new momentum to defence industry relations between the two countries, while serving as a strategic collaboration aimed at delivering integrated solutions, enhancing joint capabilities, and strengthening their position in international markets.
