EDGE Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ICAPE Group to explore joint development and localised production of critical electronic subsystems in the United Arab Emirates.

The agreement, announced during Make it in the Emirates 2026, builds on an existing commercial relationship between the two companies and reflects a broader push to strengthen in-country manufacturing capabilities and supply chain resilience.

Under the MoU, both sides will assess opportunities to integrate ICAPE Group’s expertise in printed circuit boards (PCBs), turnkey solutions, and custom electronic components into EDGE’s domestic production ecosystem. The initiative aims to gradually embed advanced electronics manufacturing within the UAE, supporting the localisation of key technologies used across defence platforms.

The partnership comes amid growing demand for electronic components across EDGE’s expanding product portfolio. Establishing a reliable and local supply chain for these subsystems has become a strategic priority, particularly as defence programmes increasingly rely on complex electronic architectures.

EDGE Group Managing Director and CEO Hamad Al Marar said the agreement reflects a focused approach to building high-value partnerships that can enhance domestic industrial capabilities. ICAPE Group CEO Yann Duigou highlighted the potential for future collaboration, emphasising the company’s expertise in delivering high-quality electronic solutions to global customers.

The MoU signals continued momentum in the UAE’s efforts to develop a robust defence industrial base, with a strong emphasis on localisation, technology transfer, and long-term capability building.
